bakelite jewelry

Fun, colorful and lighthearted, Bakelite is a very early plastic form the early 1900’s to 1960’s. It was used primarily for household products, but eventually made its way into fashionable and collectible jewelry.

I procure parts that never made it into finished pieces of jewelry. I cut, polish, drill. I also use finished pieces, such as beads, buttons, bracelets, and pendants. My desire is to create an amalgamation of shapes and brilliant colorful components into wearable art pieces that lift the spirit.
